Outreach

At the Student Sustainability Committee at ETH Zurich, we are committed to promoting sustainability on campus and beyond. As part of our efforts to collaborate and foster a sustainability community, we have established close collaborations with various organizations at ETH Zurich. On this page, we highlight some of these partnerships as well as other sustainable initiatives, and provide links to their websites, to showcase the range of efforts and initiatives being undertaken by a broader sustainability community.

Our Partners in Sustainability

At SSC, we collaborate closely with ETHS – the Office for Sustainability at ETH Zurich – to drive positive change towards sustainability on campus. ETH Sustainability is the central hub for the coordination of sustainability activities at ETH Zurich and we encourage you to explore their website to see their various projects and efforts towards making our university more sustainable.

AVETH is the academic association for the scientific staff at ETH and includes scientific assistants, doctoral students, postdocs, and senior scientists.

The Sustainability working group serves to represent the sustainability-related interests of all scientific staff. By organizing initiatives, dialogues and networking, AVETH Sustainability pushes ETH to achieve net zero by 2030.

The Sustainability Week Zürich is an annual event that takes place in March, organized by students from all universities in Zürich. This week-long event features a diverse range of events and activities that aim to inform and encourage attendees about sustainability. From workshops to lectures, panel discussions, and more, there is something for everyone who is interested in learning about sustainability and taking positive action. We’re proud to coorganise events with them and encourage everyone to get involved in this inspiring event!
SPH provides students at ETH with the resources and guidance they need to turn their project ideas into reality. We provide consultation on projects that aim to be more sustainable, while SPH offers the necessary tools and support. Additionally, we hold open office hours at SPH (see calendar) where anyone can stop by and ask questions about sustainability.
Unipoly is the EPFL equivalent of SSC in Lausanne, and we engage in regular exchanges with them to share know-how and ideas for improving sustainability practices across our respective universities.
VSN-FDD-FSS is the umbrella association of Swiss student organisations for sustainability with the goal of implementing sustainability in teaching, research, governance, strategy, the dialog with the public and on campus
The goal of ETH for Development (ETH4D) is to create innovative solutions that tackle global challenges and prepare the next generation of leaders in sustainable development.
Ideaction provides a platform for students to share ideas on the topics of environmental protection and social engagement such that other students can browse through them and contribute to their implementation.
